Ludington, Michigan

So, Sunday morning we wake up and look outside and it is cloudy and going to rain, so we got in the truck and drove across the state hoping that on the other side it would be sunny. At to our surprise it was! As a matter of fact, it was one of the nicest days of the summer. It was a little chilly from the wind coming off Lake Michigan but it was Sunny!! The water was perfectly blue and the sand soothing on the feet. The west coast of Michigan is definitely one of my most favorite places ever! There is always something to do and new things to see. Nickolas really like playing in the sand and splashing in the crystal clear water. He even tried to make a sand castle. It would never stay up because two seconds later he would run his truck right through the center of it!!

The day was perfect for sitting back and enjoying the sun and watching Nickolas running in and out of the water. We even had fun rolling in the dunes. Nickolas even tried to bury me in the sand...

So I showed him what it really meant to bury someone in the sand...

He liked it at first. He thought it was funny but then I told him to try and get out... now it wasn't so funny!! He kept saying, "mommy Help!" I helped him by showing him how to dig himself out and then he really liked it. He made me bury him about six more times.

"Hurry wrap me up mommy I am cold!"

After the beach, we went out on the pier to watch the big steam boat, the Badger, leave the harbor and head off the Wisconsin. The evening also had a great sunset that we watched before we left to go and finish the day off with ice cream. The day was so perfect I didn't want to leave. I can't wait to go back again and spend another day on Lake Michigan.
